Verdict

Karl Burke will not hear of defeat for QUIET REFLECTION on her first start in a Group 1. She came with her customary late burst to beat Donjuan Triumphant, Buratino and La Rioja in the Group 2 Sandy Lane at Haydock last month and is still improving, though the latter may have needed that run. Log Out Island never saw another rival at Newbury and it's been an advantage to be up with the pace here this week. But he looks held by the selection on a line through Donjuan Triumphant. Washington Dc won the Windsor Castle here last year and stablemate Waterloo Bridge took the Norfolk Stakes. The former did best when the pair clashed at Naas last month but he disappointed when there was give in the ground here in April. Cheikeljack drops back a furlong after scoring over 7f on heavy going at Maisons-Lafitte and may find things happening too quickly for him today.
