In depth

Verdict

Timesremembered was the best of these over hurdles last season, winning a Grade 2 at Chepstow around this time last year. He won't be far away if fully wound up and taking to fences but HORIZONTAL SPEED (NAP) looks every inch a chaser and can make a winning start over the larger obstacles. A bit of rain wouldn't have come amiss for Philip Hobbs' charge but he did defy a big weight on good ground over the fixed brush hurdles at Haydock when last seen. Sergeant Mattie beat Ballybogey three lengths at Uttoxeter but now has a penalty and Wakanda also carries extra for winning at Hexham. Golden Hoof, Sir Mangan and Volcanic are all worth monitoring for future reference.
