In depth

Verdict

Theatrical Moment would have gone off a short-priced favourite for this contest had it been run on Grand National day as intended and Alan Swinbank's gelding is taken to reward his trainer's faith in him and complete a four timer, getting the vote ahead of Tazbar and Harry Wood. The last mentioned has done every thing asked of him so far but Don McCain's gelding has yet to prove himself on ground faster than soft so may be best watched. Watch My Back created a favourable impression when making a winning debut at Kelso but the Nicky Richards-trained gelding did not seem to beat much that day so it is hard to evaluate the form. Jonjo O'Neill's Felinious has yet to win a race, while Covert Mission is not certain to beat her having only done so by three-quarters of a length at Newton Abbot last time. Keith Reveley's Tazbar has done little wrong and would normally be given every chance to land this valuable contest but Theatrical Moment has a touch of class about him and is taken to win again.
