Last month’s Albert Bartlett appears to hold the key to this and Nicky Henderson is responsible for three of the principals. Chef Des Obeaux didn’t give his true running at Cheltenham and was pulled up but OK CORRAL finished second and Santini made late headway into third. Tower Bridge was a close fifth but Poetic Rhythm was a well-beaten 10th and will do well to reverse placing with any of those in front. Barry Geraghty’s mount would have got a lot closer to shock winner Kilbricken Storm had he not hung before and after the final flight and is open to further improvement over staying distances. Sam's Gunner was an impressive winner of a Grade 3 handicap at Sandown last month and Mick Easterby wouldn’t have stumped up the entry fee if he didn’t think his charge was capable of picking up some prize money. Roksana won an ultra-competitive mares’ handicap at Newbury last month while Point Of Principle is on upward curve but this may be a step too far for Good Man Pat, Louse Talk and Uppertown Prince.
