Sampson moves to Macclesfield

Morecambe have allowed striker Jack Sampson to join Vanarama Conference team Macclesfield on loan for the rest of the campaign.

Sampson moved to the Globe Arena in 2013 from Bolton but has found first-team chances hard to come by of late as the Shrimps have Jack Redshaw, Kevin Ellison, Padraig Amond and Paul Mullin in their attack. In total, Sampson has made 58 appearances for the Sky Bet League Two club, with just 19 coming this term. "Jack's first-team opportunities of late have been limited," boss Jim Bentley told Morecambe's official website, "We've received numerous offers over the last few months for loan moves that for one reason or another haven't quite worked out. "Macclesfield contacted us around lunchtime and Jack has decided that this would be a great opportunity to get some first-team football. "We were also hoping to have been able to announce an addition to the squad but we weren't quite able agree a deal."
