Exeter manager Paul Tisdale has handed a trial to versatile Cambridge City defender Tom Gardiner.
The 20-year-old will head to the Grecians' Cat and Fiddle training ground in a bid to impress the League Two side having made seven starts for the non-league outfit since leaving Hibernian. "You can't stand in a player's way when they get a chance like this," boss Lilywhites Gary Roberts told Cambridge News. "He has done well for us and hopefully he can go to Exeter and do the same." Gardiner failed to make a senior appearance for the Scottish club.
