Notts County defender Jordan Cranston has signed a new contract at Meadow Lane until the summer of 2016.

The left-back only joined the Magpies in September on a deal until January but has impressed boss Shaun Derry. County go to Barnsley on Tuesday night aiming to make it 10 games unbeaten and Wales Under-19 international Cranston, who started his career at Wolves, is expected to feature. "I didn't really have a good pre-season, but now I'm feeling like I belong and I'm settled," he told the club's official site. "It wasn't a hard decision. It's first-team football at the end of the day and I'm delighted to have secured my future. "I've settled in well and now I'm looking to carry on our good form, with a decent result at Barnsley tonight. "I'd like to thank Greg (Abbott, assistant manager) and the gaffer, and of course Mick Halsall who helped me get my move originally. "My target is now to try and stay in the team, get a string of performances, help the lads out and hopefully have a successful season."
