Bristol City have signed Rotherham striker Kieran Agard on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old smashed in 26 goals last season as the Millers were promoted to the Championship but just four games into the new season he returns to the third tier to hook up with Steve Cotterill's Robins. And the City boss revealed that the former Yeovil forward turned down more financially lucrative offers to make the move to Ashton Gate. "We're delighted to sign Kieran and I'm even more pleased that he's decided to come to us for footballing reasons," Cotterill told the club's official website. "He fits into our wage structure and he's actually come here for less money than he could have got elsewhere in the Championship. "I'm delighted he's here because his goalscoring record last season was right up there, not too far away from the golden boot, taken by our own Sam (Baldock). "I'm looking forward to working with Kieran and welcome him to the club." Agard, who goes into the squad for Saturday's match at Rochdale, had been a long-time target for Cotterill, who made no secret of his desire for four strikers in his squad.
