Sky Sports understands Chico Flores is on the verge of leaving Swansea to join former boss Michael Laudrup at Qatari club Lekhwiya.

Chico's future has been the subject of speculation this summer, with Swansea boss Garry Monk thought to be willing to listen to offers for the Spaniard.

The 27-year-old centre-back, who joined Swansea from Genoa in 2012, was involved in a highly-publicised training ground spat with Monk last season.

Monk is keen to reshape his squad at the Liberty Stadium and Chico could be the latest Spanish import to be allowed to leave following the departures of Michu and Alejandro Pozuelo already this summer.

Talks are thought to be at an advanced stage between Lekhwiya and Chico as Laudrup looks to be reunited with the defender who he brought to Swansea from Genoa during his time in charge of the Wales outfit.
