Vitesse Arnhem have conceded that Christian Atsu will not be returning for a second loan spell as he has other options to consider.
Chelsea snapped up the 22-year-old winger from Porto in the summer of 2013, but immediately sent him to Holland on a season-long agreement.
Atsu impressed in the Eredivisie, netting five goals and providing six assists in 30 appearances.
Chelsea are pleased to see the potential they bought into being fulfilled, but the youngster remains some way down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
That is likely to see him leave west London again in 2014/15, allowing him to get further first-team experience under his belt.
Vitesse had hoped that they would be able to persuade Atsu to re-join their ranks, but coach Peter Bosz claims the Ghana international is wanted by top clubs in England and Germany.
He told Voetbal International: “Atsu won’t return to Vitesse.
“Almost half of the Bundesliga and the Premier League are interested in him.”
