La Liga new boys Cordoba have completed the loan signing of Brazilian winger Ryder Matos from Fiorentina.

The 21-year-old has spent the last six years in Italy, progressing through Fiorentina’s academy system.

He was billed as a hot prospect during his teenage years and made the step up into the Viola’s senior set-up last season.

Matos netted on his debut in September and saved his best performances for Europa League competition.

While Fiorentina still hold him in high regard, it is felt that a loan spell will help to bring him on and help to further unlock his potential.

Matos told firenzeviola.it of his move: “Many clubs were interested in me, both in Italy and Spain, and my aim was to be able to keep playing.

“I chose Cordoba because I think Spanish football best suits my characteristics.

“I hope to be able to keep improving next season and then come back to Florence and do good things in the Viola jersey.

“My future will be in Florence with Fiorentina.”
