JAMIE REDKNAPP PICKS LIAM BRADY

Liam Brady

“My grandad absolutely loved Liam Brady. He was a genius, with a lovely left foot. He would have made any team better. But that Arsenal team was the best I team I played against in the Premier League. We [Tottenham Hotspur] drew 2-2 with them when they won the title at White Hart Lane.

“That was such a great football team and they had everything; pace, power. If you wanted to have a tear-up, they would have a tear-up. If you wanted to play football against them, they would. They were a very special side. I was a huge Patrick Vieira fan. He was one of the best players I have ever seen or played against.”

JAMIE CARRAGHER PICKS TONY ADAMS

Tony Adams

“I think you would have to say Tony Adams. Sol Campbell was a great centre-back in that Invincibles side and Kolo Toure was probably a good one who was helped out massively by having Campbell alongside him. But Adams’ leadership, organisational skills and will to win would have improved that team a lot.”

PAUL MERSON PICKS NO ONE

“I have got to say nobody. They never lost a game, so I do not see how you can improve that team. It will never be done again and you cannot improve something that was that good. Why would you change something that is not broke?

“I heard someone on the radio, saying that Chelsea could go unbeaten this season. I am a Chelsea fan but they have got no chance. It is so hard.

“I could reel off players. Of course Tony Adams is better than Kolo Toure, and David Seaman is better than Jens Lehmann. But it is a bit disrespectful to try and change that team.”
