MOUSTACHE made racecourse experience count in a race where a number of tall reputations accompanied newcomers into the contest.
Sat just behind the leaders, Richard Hughes was content to keep his mount on an even keel over the Goodwood undulations and when the gap came inside the final furlong, the colt produced what was necessary to win this contest and showed that the confidence that had permeated the betting ring at Chepstow had not been without merit.
Llanarmon Lad proved the surprise package. He did not travel as well as the winner and credit has to go Darryll Holland who having been busy with a couple of furlongs, managed to coax him into a position where he had a chance of winning.
Tidy Affair has had a couple of outings already though he kept on well enough to suggest that he could be worth a try over further.
Sequoia raced prominently to hold every chance at the distance though was not good enough on the day. Muarrab had been given an entry in the Dewhurst by Ed
Dunlop and he ran encouragingly before emptying out close home. The run will not have been lost upon him.
The highly touted Warcrown reared badly as the stalls opened and lost a number of lengths in the process. He made some headway during the mid-section of the contest though all realistic chance had been lost in the opening seconds of the contest and he was not knocked about.
