Traditionally one of the biggest betting races of the year and the prize can stay in Yorkshire if BACCARAT can do the business. The four-year-old raced a little too exuberantly in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot but he looks to have plenty of quality about him and is a previous winner on the Knavesmire. Farlow is also set to represent Richard Fahey. Though more exposed, he caught the eye in defeat at Doncaster and is slowly slipping down the handicap. Dick Bos had a couple of awaydays to Ireland and was ahead of Fast Shot when they met at Ripon. Tim Easterby's inmate wasn't far away in the Scottish Stewards' Cup at Hamilton and he is entitled to be a big player here. Tropics has continued to improve and he won well at Windsor. Khubala has a chance re-opposing on much better terms, however, and Hugo Palmer's four-year-old has gone on to run a cracker in the Wokingham since.
