ZABEEL CHAMPION is on the upgrade having missed out on a hat-trick by a narrow-margin over 1m2f at Goodwood last month. Pedigree suggests this longer trip will suit and Mark Johnston’s colt is preferred to stablemate King's Caper. Runner-up in the Italian Derby, the latter was beaten back in handicap company last time while Dark Jedi landed a double earlier and is another stepping up in distance. Restorer ran well at Chester recently but was well beaten in last year’s renewal while Dash Of Spice missed the whole of last year and has struggled since returning to action. Stablemate Entangling drops back down in class while Alfaatik has been gelded having only raced twice last year and is worth noting on his handicap debut.
