Larchmont Lad passed the post first in Listed company at Leopardstown in October but was demoted to second by the stewards. He’ll be sharper for last month’s comeback and is preferred to stablemate Custom Cut, who has struggled since returning to handicapping. Cape Byron makes his handicap debut having been well beaten at Meydan back in January and may well figure along with Original Choice, who won a Class 2 at Wetherby recently but today’s fast ground is a concern. Isomer has been thereabouts in less competitive affairs this year while Baraweez was ending a long losing run when successful at Chester last week. AFAAK (NAP) found little in the Spring Cup at Newbury on his return but last year’s second at Newmarket to subsequent Lincoln and Group 2 winner Addeybb is among the best form on offer and Charlie Hills’ colt gets another chance in this.
