    Verdict

It did not look the strongest of races that Echelon won at Newmarket's Guineas meeting and Sir Michael Stoute's mare may struggle to give weight and a beating to Anna Pavlova who has conditions to suit today and gets the vote, with Topatoo rated the pick of the remainder. The selection missed a recent engagement as the ground was considered too quick but that will not a be a problem for Richard Fahey's filly here and she is taken to gain a deserved first success in this grade having shown progressive form last term. Pat Haslam's Maroussies Wings is strictly held by the selection on running in the Park Hill last season, while Summer's Eve may need the run on her reappearance. James Fanshawe is more than capable of producing one fit after an absence and his representative Portal has to be respected although more solid claims are probably held by Topatoo. The Mark Tompkins-trained mare showed progressive form last term and is closely matched with Echelon on running at Newmarket. Anna Pavlova has plenty going for her though and she is preferred.
