        Verdict

Clever Cookie dead-heated for this in 2014 and won it outright a year later. He's quite capable of running well again on ground that suits though is likely to find a few younger rivals too good. MARMELO (NAP) has never raced on ground this quick though he's undoubtedly the form pick. A Group 2 winner at Deauville in August he ran two fine races in Australia before giving supporters of the high-class stayer Vazirabad a fright in a Group 2 at Longchamp last month. It's a surprise he's not in at Royal Ascot next week but this is a nice consolation. Weekender should go well having scored over this trip at Chelmsford before attempting to make most in the Group 3 Henry II Stakes over 2m at Sandown where he was caught in the closing stages. He's Frankie's only booked ride and will ensure the selection doesn't have things his own way. Time To Study is held on that Sandown run but Algometer would enter the equation on his third behind Hawkbill in a Newmarket Group 2 last summer.
