Verdict

Just James had several of these behind when landing a similarly valuable sprint at Newmarket last month in breathtaking fashion. Jeremy Noseda's lightly raced three-year-old showed a devastating turn of foot to come from well off the pace on that occasion and, if in the same mood, should go close again off a 5lb higher mark. There is little between the winner, Fayr Jag (second), Fire Up The Band (third) and Baralinka (fourth) on Newmarket form at the revised terms while Jonny Ebeneezer is a progressive sort having landed handicaps at Windsor and Epsom (now 7lb higher) and should give another good account. Selective met a well treated opponent at Goodwood last time and this pacey type should not be inconvenienced by the step down in trip but Baldour ran as though something was amiss last time and is best watched on this occasion.
