Verdict

Stone Soldier has proven best on the all-weather so far and can race off a much lower mark back on this surface while Tamman has tumbled down the weights and stablemate Orbaan placed at Epsom last time. Russco ran well at Haydock but Wizard D'Amour is preferred while Newmarket winner Royal Musketeer is upped in class. Northern Express is preferred of his yard’s three runners having run well in a tougher contest over track and trip last time and beat POET’S MAGIC (NAP) a neck at Ayr last autumn. But the latter re-opposes on more favourable terms and John Quinn’s mare is taken to go close with a recent comeback here under her belt.
