Richard Fahey's Barefoot Lady has the pedigree to suggest that she could handle cut in the ground and she makes more appeal than Saeed Bin Suroor's Roayh, who has shown a decent level of form, forcing a dead-heat at Kempton over seven furlongs last month but he is not certain to appreciate the drop in trip or the ground. There are ground concerns for both Easy Ticket and Murbeh so a better option looks to be the Irish raider KATLA, who gets the verdict. The selection is a confirmed performer on testing ground having been narrowly beaten in a listed race at The Curragh last month before running well in a Group 3 race at the same venue. Tom Dascombe's Ballista, who ran well when a close third in Redcar's Two-Year-Old Trophy earlier this month is another to consider.
