THEOLA can give Mark Thompkins back-to-back wins in the race. She was outclassed at Goodwood last time out but this more conventional track will be in her favour, having won here over a longer trip in October. Catterick specialist Bergonzi looks more interesting than Beat The Shower in the battle of the hat-trick seekers, whilst Simonside and Ceoil An Aith are respected gallopers. Markington is not done with yet (another to disappoint at Goodwood), whilst of the whole host of recent winners it is Satwa Gold who is respected most.
