In depth

Verdict

ROUGH ROCK and Cuthbert finished one-two here recently when the former's late charge proved decisive. There will probably be little between them once again but Chris Wall's topweight can confirm placings. He has already enjoyed five successes at this venue whereas Cuthbert has yet to get his head in front on turf, although obviously housing strong claims on that recent effort. Sammy Alexander looks a clear threat to both, the consistent three-year-old looking a potential improver and the handicapper has not been unkind to the Simcock inmate. Keep a very close watch on Glass Mountain for the resurgent Fanshawe operation too. Not beaten far on his handicap bow, he looks sure to improve and inhabits a decent mark.
