In depth

Verdict

Campeon is still a maiden but, dropped into claiming grade for the first time and with Kieren Fallon in the plate, should see off these inferior rivals. Campeon is a fairly consistent sort and his fifth in a Haydock Nursery off a mark of 74 reads extremely well in the context of this race. It certainly reads better than Tipsy Lillie's narrow victory in a course and distance seller last time. Sapphire Princess won a weak seller on the polytrack but failed to follow up at Bath, while Goldhill Prince picked up a series of moderate races earlier in the year but appears to have gone off the boil since. All in all, Campeon cannot be opposed.
