        Verdict

At previous meetings here this year, most of the races on the straight course have tended to unfold up the centre of the course, even when the stalls are placed on the stands' side. A low grade handicap to end with, contested by mainly out-of-sorts. One who does come into this in good form is Mizhar, who has been wonderfully consistent of late. Although raised 3lbs for his latest effort, he is still well treated on old form and is reunited with the champion jockey who was on board when he won at Ponterfract back in April. He looks sure to go well. Mister Clinton has several decent efforts to his name this term and wasn't beaten far at Chepstow last time, despite finishing 10th. He is a horse who does need things to go right for him, but he has gone well here in the past and is one to keep an eye on. Milton Bradley runs three in this, the best of whom may be Toppling, who was only denied in the shadow of the post last time. However, a chance is taken with Pinchbeck, who has struggled with the Handicapper since picking up four races last summer. He is now back down to a lower mark than when last successful and if the first time blinkers have the desired effect, he looks one to be with.
