      Verdict

This may only be a Class 5 handicap but it’s attracted runners from several powerful stables. Sir Michael Stoute’s Beachwalk, who changed hands for 85,000gns last year, opened his account at Lingfield nine days ago but he has a penalty here and the headgear would need to work a second time. He has also shown his best on the all-weather so far. Nicklaus won at Redcar in October but ran poorly on his reappearance. Oswald has been in good form, however, while cheekpieces might improve Elhafei. ARIGATO was a comfortable winner at Newmarket last month. This doesn’t look much better and this progressive sort can defy a 6lb rise.
