      Verdict

This looks the stronger of the two divisions thanks to the presence of Lahaag and REGISTER, both of whom showed up really well on the same day in separate maiden contests at Newmarket and Newbury respectively. It's not easy to choose confidently between the pair but the latter created slightly the better impression last time and may represent better value than his more fashionably-trained rival. Wildomar finished sixth behind Lahaag in that Newmarket contest and should improve further although handicaps appear a more viable option from now on. Luca Cumani is a patient man with late-maturing three-year-olds but do keep an eye on his newcomer, Barkis, a son of Selkirk.
