In depth

Verdict

Half of this field have course and distance victories to their credit including SANDY COVE, who is just 4lb higher than his victory here last month. He'd also won over an extended 1m3f at Chelmsford earlier so clearly does well at the distance and can go in again. Meetings Man has won here from a much higher mark but hasn't been in the best of form while the other track and trip winner The Ducking Stool was behind the selection last month. Music Man has yet to win a race but was there with every chance over two miles at Kempton before fading close home. Snow Prince landed a Catterick maiden though hasn't done so well in handicaps but the three-year-old Captain Peacock ran a fine race over the trip at Sandown, though he faces older horses for the first time.
