In depth

Verdict

ACROSS DUBAI’s half-brother Pivotal Flame won over this trip and 1m2f so it’s safe to assume that the step up in distance is going to suit William Haggas’ Lingfield maiden winner, who gets the nod ahead of Indian Dandy. Marco Botti’s colt also makes his debut on Turf but has won over a mile at Lingfield and Chelmsford so is respected. November’s Wolverhampton winner X Rated has already been placed on Turf and could improve further now he’s got his head in front while Zymyran was quite highly tried after winning here and at Newcastle in September, though starts the new campaign on a high enough mark. Ernststavroblofeld made late headway at Newmarket 12 days ago and is worth considering given he won over 6f on his debut.
