This isn't the strongest of races and JAMESSON has an opportunity to regain the winning thread. Jamie Snowden's eight-year-old ran no sort of race at Newton Abbot last month, but he'd won in taking fashion at Plumpton earlier in the year and is just 5lb higher this afternoon. Le Grand Chene won at Uttoxeter in May on soft ground and he could be a major player if the forecast rainfall arrives. Neither David Evans nor Brendan Powell were able to find the key to Numbercruncher but he managed to win a point-to-point recently and Marc Barber searches for a first winner under Rules. Standing Ovation has been campaigned as a staying hurdler in the past and though still open to improvement over fences, he has been well held on his two previous outings to date.
