Royal Chief has twice been placed off this mark, most recently at Stratford last Sunday. Sheer Poetry quickened nicely to complete a double at Wincanton but has a penalty and her ability to stay this far will have to be taken on trust. There are no stamina doubts surrounding the consistent Young Lou, however, and she was only beaten a head at Bangor last month. Precious Ground has been threatening to win a race like this for a while but it might be a shrewd move to put THOONAVOLLA back over hurdles. He overcame a bad blunder to score off this mark over fences here last week and was placed over the smaller obstacles in Ireland in 2014.
