    Verdict

The mares take centre stage here and narrow preference is for Taralina ahead of Madame Blaze and Colinette. The selection was third last time out at Taunton. That was on similar ground to today's and it is fair to assume that she should progress from that run, where she showed a lot more than she had previously; she should go on from here. Adlestrop has shown ability in the past but is hardly the most reliable, whilst Madam Blaze is still a maiden but should go well with Richard Johnson on board. Lucky Find showed a lot more when recently beaten into second place and should be a player, whilst Colinette is another maiden but her winning turn may not be too far away. At a price Donastrela could belie her likely odds; however it is Taralina who is given the vote.
