In depth

Verdict

Ian Williams has his string in tremendous shape and may have found a good opportunity for BAIKALINE to score over fences, from King De Lune and Tosula. The selection races from the same mark as when enjoying a workmanlike success over hurdles at Aintree last month. A sound surface suits and he stays this far, so he may be well handicapped for today. King De Lune acts well on fast ground and has dropped a few pounds in the weights despite being second on his last two starts. He still has to prove he genuinely stays this far however. Tosula looks a danger, having been dropped 6lbs since her last outing. She has never yet raced on fast ground, however, while she also has stamina to prove, so we will just oppose. Good Old Days is finding winning difficult and probably needs a significant drop in the weights, while the fly-in-the-ointment may be chase debutant Quil Est Beau, who represents top connections and has A P McCoy up. Baikaline gets the vote.
