In depth

Verdict

Amadeus, Drumossie and Young Tot are all shortlisted in this contest and the vote is given to Amadeus. The selection is a game type who ran really well last time out when finishing second behind Eljay's Boy. He would probably have won that day had he not made a blunder but he is clearly in good heart and he looks the one they all have to beat. Drumossie put up a fair effort at Perth last time when third behind Master Papa but he gave the impression that the handicapper had caught up with him and for that reason we will oppose him. Young Tot won a modest event over hurdles last time but he returns to chasing today and he looks to have a little to find with the leading lights if he is to get his head in front. Gipsey Cricketer is a course and distance winner but his overall strike-rate leaves a lot to be desired and for the winner we will return to Amadeus.
