Verdict

MUMBLES PIER can take the finale with Dust Packer and Vixen Run sought as plausible alternatives. Peter Bowen's bumper runners have been sent off at some ridiculously short odds this summer but the gelding made eyecatching headway from off the pace at Stratford on his second start and it could be worth chancing that the penny has finally dropped. Dust Packer was a maiden in Irish points. He stays three miles but there is plenty of flat emphases in his pedigree. Vixen Run was a very cheaply bought daughter of Presenting. Hailing from an unfashionable yard, she has the services of Bernie Wharfe this afternoon. Cloak Of Silence made no show in two bumpers in Ireland though Robert Thornton is an interesting booking. Light Touch was easy to back in a bumper at the track last month and ran accordingly. Florarossa is a half-sister to Rouge Et Noir. Two racecourse starts suggest that she hasn't quite got the ability of Keith Reveley's former inmate. Debutant, Dunheved Dancer has an unfashionable pedigree whilst the remainder need to have found improvement. Mumbles Pier is the pick in the finale.
