        Verdict

        Young Simon gained his first success in 17 starts at Kempton a week ago and, though penalised 6lb, he was rated higher on turf. Silver Linnet is 1lb lower than when scoring at Lingfield last March and hasn't been running badly. Serious Matters has a long absence to overcome but has an experienced pilot in the plate while the consistent Downhill Skier should enjoy dropping back in trip after running reasonably well over 7f lately. MUSHY PEAS scored at Brighton in the summer and has run well on occasions on Polytrack. He was sent off favourite at Lingfield last time after a very good run there a week earlier but completely missed the break - compensation awaits under his experienced rider.
