In depth

Verdict

Wicked Uncle, Twinned and Regal Royale make most appeal in this competitive opener and the vote is given to Wicked Uncle. The selection ran a fair race in a handicap here over 6f last time out, but the key to his chance today is the drop in distance as he has done all his winning over the minimum trip. Twinned is a course and distance winner and he has obvious claims, but his cause has not been helped by his high draw and that will make life tough for him. Regal Royale was only narrowly beaten by Marmooq at Kempton last time and a reproduction of that effort would see him competitive. Night Prospector has been in good form in claimers, and although he has more on his plate today he does have a good low draw. A tough race to call but the vote is given to Wicked Uncle.
