Verdict

Lucky Lodge has every chance back over this longer trip having escaped a penalty for winning an apprentices’ race over 6f here last week. But MOUNT WELLINGTON (NAP) also won over 6f at the track a fortnight ago when beating a subsequent winner and has now won two of only four starts since joining Stuart Williams’ yard. He’s raised a further 4lb today but has won off much higher marks in the past and can go in again. Critical Thinking was still well beaten when second over a longer trip here last time while Glory of Paris looks no nearer taking advantage of a slip down the weights and Kupa River failed to land a gamble with a poor effort at Newcastle.
