In depth

Verdict

Smart Danny can take a modest event at the expense of Garnock Venture and Short Chorus. John Quinn's charge was taking on significantly better opposition when making a close-up fifth to the useful Johnny Parkes at Nottingham. Although he is yet to prove himself on an artificial surface, he has a likeable sprint pedigree and could still potentially be unexposed. Garnock Venture is exposed over seven furlongs and took a seller at Southwell on her last racecourse visit. Alan Berry's Short Chorus is held by our selection on that run at Nottingham while the market is watched with regard to Wonky Donkey and Kedross. Moscow Mary could be better drawn. Smart Danny is given the verdict in the opener.
