      Verdict

This is a desperately poor contest and what can only be a tentative vote goes to the consistent Faraday, who should appreciate the drop back in trip, and he is preferred to Bobering and Nanosecond. The last mentioned is less exposed than most of these after just six career runs and is closely matched with the selection on running at Kempton last time but he is less likely to appreciate the shorter trip today so looks best watched. Castle Frome has run better in his last two starts and has to be respected on the evidence of those outings but he does need to improve again to trouble the judge. Over Ice has shown only limited signs of ability so far and of more interest may be Brian Baugh's Bobering who has not won for some time but does take a big drop in class this evening. Faraday has been knocking on the door of late and he is taken to gain an overdue success.
