    Verdict

The drop back in trip may help Kingston Harbour, who is preferred to Fisby and Mission Affirmed. The last mentioned made an encouraging return to the all-weather when chasing home Bundaberg at Southwell earlier this month. Entitled to strip fitter for the run, Tom Tate's gelding has to be respected but lack of a previous outing on the Polytrack is of concern. Top weight Westcote has been running consistently well on the sand this winter and represents the in form stable of Kevin Ryan but may struggle to give weight away all round. Midshipman is only 2lbs higher than when scoring here in December and is another with claims but has disappointed in two starts since then and of more interest may be Fisby. Sylvester Kirk's gelding failed to justify market support when beaten over the extended mile here last month. Not helped by racing wide into the straight that day, the son of Efisio made amends when successful over 1m2f at Lingfield subsequently and holds solid claims off just a 2lb higher mark today. Recent course and distance winner Gold Guest and the reappearing Reap are others to consider but the vote goes to Kingston Harbour. Vince Smith's gelding is still relatively unexposed after just seven career starts but has made a good impression since joining current connections this winter with wins in a maiden over course and distance and a handicap at Southwell. The son of Danehill has seemed not to stay 1m4f in his last two starts and looks worth a bet returned to today's trip.
