In depth

Verdict

Artushof is no world beater but he is taken to get his head in front at the main expense of Rightful Ruler and Blue Train. The selection is from a yard in top form but he was disappointing last time when he finished third behind Noubian at Wolverhampton. He was the warm favourite that day and Rightful Ruler finished a short-head in front of him. But the fitting of a visor might just sharpen him up here and he is given the vote. Rightful Ruler has got obvious claims on the back of that latest run and he seems to be progressing the right way so it would be a surprise if he wasn't good enough to make the frame. Blue Train was an expensive purchase and he made a pleasing debut at Yarmouth when fourth behind Daring Ransom. He may be better over further in time but if he improves for that run then he would not be far away here. Carpet Ride was disappointing on his debut but may be capable of better here. However, for the winner we return to Artushof.
