Verdict

DONCOSAQUE was an easy enough winner of a claimer at Great Leighs last time and can follow up here at the main expense of Precocious Air and Dougie Peel. The selection was persevered with in quite a few maidens by trainer Jonathan Gask until being thrust into a claimer last time and justifying odds-on favouritism in fine style. He is rated clear of this field and with confidence high we expect to see him finish clear of them too. Precocious Air is dropped into this by Jamie Osborne after a couple of maiden runs and if she can reproduce either of those efforts in this company then she would be entitled to go close. Dougie Peel has a lot more experience and won a claimer over 10f a couple of months back. He has moderate ability but is respected in this sphere. Vodka Shot represents exhalted connections and it would be no surprise to see her improve second time out and over this trip, while In Step should be able to show more in this easier grade, but Doncosaque did not look as though his winning run would end at one and is taken to back it up.
