In depth

Verdict

Addikt, Desert Clover and Istria form the shortlist in a tricky opener and the vote is given to Addikt. The selection looks to have the best form on show here and he was running on strongly at Lingfield last time when third behind Points Of View. He had a poor draw that day so it was a decent effort and he looks a solid bet today. Desert Clover is an interesting newcomer from the Paul Cole yard and his breeding suggests that he will be suited by racing on the all-weather. Istria ran green on her debut but she still shaped with plenty of promise, although she may be better over a slightly longer trip in time. Prince Hamlet is another newcomer worth a look in the market, but for the winner we will stick with Addikt.
