In depth

Verdict

Dafa will be all the rage to land a straight hat-trick of wins and we think that he will do just that with the main danger possibly being Buz Kiri. The Barney Curley-trained selection returned from an absence to win here over seven furlongs two runs ago and then doubled up when stepped up in trip by three furlongs to score at Lingfield. OK that form is nothing out of the ordinary if taken at face value, but he looks the type to follow until beaten. Buz Kiri is a course and distance winner from a mark of 40 so should be competitive for a place dropped back to 12 furlongs from two miles last time and Isa'af certainly has a chance based on his Turf form of last summer, when he won twice. Top Of The Class also has a shout if getting back to the level of her autumn 2003 Turf form, a similar comment applying to Vitelucy if she gets back to her Lingfield form of 12 months ago. Singularity is interesting in that she is now stepped up in trip having tried distances of less than a mile to date. On breeding, it was a toss up as to which of the trips would suit her best, and I guess we'll get much more of an idea of the answer from this contest. However, for today's winner, we return to Dafa, who gets our selection.
