In depth

Verdict

Spriggan has obvious claims and gets a confident vote over the likes of Orchestrator and Agitator who can battle for the runner-up spot. Having finished second on each of his last three outings, it can be argued that Spriggan is becoming hard to win with already. However, he can boast the best form on show here, and in truth has been found a simple opportunity to break his duck. He was brushed aside by the useful Big Noise at Newmarket last time, but there is nothing of that calibre here, and he should be able to make all on his first try on the Polytrack. Orchestrator needs to settle better, while Agitator will surely need this first run since last August, and in any case will need another furlong in time. Spriggan will be hard to beat and will be priced accordingly.
