Verdict

Kings Craic needs a market check ahead of his handicap debut now stepped up markedly in trip while support for Spirit Of Love should not go ignored, but preference at this stage is for LAY CLAIM. Alan McCabe's horse ran well behind an above-average type at Southwell and shouldn't be inconvenienced by a return to this track, judging by his close fourth off 4lbs higher here in September. He's evidently responded well to the fitting of headgear and, while still a maiden, may be set to get off the mark at the expense of Rubi Dia. Mark Johnston's charge is nicely bred and ran well over 1m2f at Nottingham having refused to settle. The drop in trip and return to an artificial surface should help this all-weather maiden winner and he's a threat to all ahead of Slikback Jack, whose chance may have gone following a rise in the weights for two placed efforts in October.
