In depth

Verdict

Muktasb has run to a consistent level of form and he should again be thereabouts but Derek Shaw's gelding may be a shade high in the weights and preference is for RESTLESS GENIUS, who gets the nod over Double Carpet. The last mentioned was in good form in December winning back-to-back races at Great Leighs and Wolverhampton but he has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper for those successes and may be booked for a place at best now. Rosie Says No ran well enough when last seen in November and has to be considered off the same mark today, while Desert Pride is gradually slipping to a fair mark but he remains a maiden after nine outings. Bentley was well held on his recent reappearance at Redcar and a safer option looks to be Restless Genius, who should appreciate the return to six furlongs and the Polytrack having been outpaced over the minimum trip on his last two starts on turf. He is taken to give weight away all round.
