Verdict

Blue Hills is the selection here, ahead of Pocket Too and Nod's Star. Peter Hiatt's charge won in determined fashion last time out and must have leading claims in what looks an open contest. A poor draw shouldn't be too much of a hindrance unless he pulls too hard early on, and with jockey Jim Crowley in good form, he looks sure to receive a positive ride. Pocket Too won a claimer at Lingfield on his penultimate start, however he has since struggled off his mark of 60 so must be opposed again today. Nod's Star is very consistent albeit in a lesser grade so must have fairly solid place claims, whilst Qaasi steps up to this trip for the first time so unless the race is run at a crawl, stamina could be an issue. Come What Augustus is consistent but is ultimately winless in 14 runs so cannot be truly fancied, so perhaps of more interest could be Equilibria. This useful dual-performer has been running consistently and if getting the flat two miles today, he could go well at a decent price. Ultimately this looks a very open affair, but we will stick with Blue Hills to land the spoils.
