In depth

Verdict

Heidelburg is taken to break his maiden tag, he has shown fair form of late notably when second behind Littleton Arwen and if he can reproduce that effort he will be hard to beat. Percy Douglas was ninth in the Cornwallis Stakes and takes a big step down in grade here but he has no experience of this surface. Coctail Lady has form in maidens on this surface but again may find one or two to good here and she may do better in handicaps. Angel Isa was third in a maiden at Catterick behind H Harrison that was a fair run but she will have to have improved again to win this. Caronte has had plenty of chances and it will be interesting to see if there is any money for Chesnut Cracker who is from a yard that has done well with its two-year olds of late and the yard has a good strike rate here. The remainder need to show improved form to score.
